Coleg Cambria is one of the UK’s largest colleges employing more than 1450 staff in over five campuses, all conveniently located in North East Wales, offering easy accessibility from within North Wales, Shropshire, Wirral, Merseyside and Cheshire.

We are now looking for a Senior Nursery Nurse to join us at our Toy Box onsite Nursery at our Deeside Campus on a fixed term contract, part time basis.

Within the role of Senior Nursery Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to assist colleagues in the management and operation of the Coleg Cambria Nursery and cover for the Deputy Nursery Manager. You will also be responsible for the managing the operation and staff of a nursery room in the capacity of a Senior Nursery Nurse.

The role of a Senior Nursery Nurse is that of assisting in the long term planning and provision of the creative, social and educational development of the children, ensuring it is appropriate for their age and needs within the Nursery. You will be experienced in assisting with the day to day organisation, planning and preparation of meals, activities, rest times, cleaning and laundry. It will be your responsibility to assist with the communication of operational targets and changes to all staff.

You will be happy working flexibly as part of a team and will work together to assess each child’s needs and report any physical or emotional problems observed to the Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager.

We are looking for applicants with a Level 3 Qualification or equivalent. It is desirable that candidates have an up to date first aid certificate and Food hygiene certificate.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate an up to date awareness of the relevant legislation and quality standards as well as a good level of computer literacy. For this position is essential that you have a minimum of 3 years child care experience including experience caring for children between 0-18 months. You will be outgoing, resilient and able to communicate effectively to a range of different audiences. You will be quality driven and committed to providing a high level of service and care.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is highly desirable.
