As an Assessor in Horticulture, you will assess the full range of NVQ’s at Levels 2, 3 & 4. Enrolling students on appropriate courses and providing coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities. You will be responsible for monitoring student progress towards qualifications, giving constructive feedback and helping them to build a portfolio of evidence.

In order to be successful in this role, candidates must possess or be willing to work towards an Assessor qualification and hold a professionally relevant qualification at Level 3 as a minimum. With an outgoing and positive personality and strong team working skills, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the maintenance and development of quality standards and have acceptable levels of Essential Skills, particularly verbal and numerical reasoning. Occupational experience in the Horticulture sector is essential.

You do need to be self-motivated, have good organisational skills and time management, including the ability to carry out administrative tasks to support the role.

Candidates must hold a valid driving licence and have access to own transport.

Those who have experience of liaising with managers in industry and commerce and who are confident working directly with external verifiers and awarding bodies will be of distinct advantage.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is desirable.
